Rory Block

Four time W.C. Handy Award winning artist, Rory Block has been playing music for most of her life. Coming from a musically gifted family she took up guitar at age 10 and soon taught herself flat-picking to accompany her fiddle-playing father at folk festivals, parties and clubs. Art Foxall

Played and appeared with Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughn, Artie Shaw, Roy Eldridge, Little Richard, Ivory Joe Hunter. His band included Jaki Byard, Joe Gordon, H.B. Barnum, Alan Dawson, Gigi Gryce, Sam Rivers and many more. He has headlined the Heineken Jazz Festival in Holland for three years. Art was in Artie Shaw's Band. Art is currently in Holland on tour (4/07).
